Account moved!

Journal Entry: Fri Aug 22, 2008, 4:27 AM
Yeah - really.

So, I finally did it - I did the dirty Harry of all deeds! >:B I transfered dA accounts! I still have a few things I want to switch over, but most of the things in my new gallery will be new art. Check it out! :iconno-nami:

I hope my current watchers will get this and move over to my new account so they don't think I'm dead. =w=;;; That would be horrid. Now I need to know if there's anyway to transfer subscriptions from one account to the other. << This one's still got some beef in it.

BUT. Other than that, there's not much news. =w= I start classes at my local community college soon and I'm as excited as I was when I first started kindergarden. xDD Kinda lame, I know, but I can't help it - it's college! I'll probably grow out of it reeaaaal soon. =w=;;;

Right now, I'm sitting in the lobby of the student union center at my college, whoring out their wireless internet to do my bidding. >; D I'm a naughty girl!

Hopefully, I'll make a speedy recovery from my art coma. =w=;; I've done two new pieces, including my latest commission for the charity art auction I was in and another (but you'll have to go to my new account to see it! >D BWAHAHAHAHAHA!).

SPEAKING OF ART AUCTION!

CHECK OUT THE FINAL BATCH OF THE ~chinaearthauction !!! There are some seriously amazing artists there and it's all for a good cause! Please contribute and get a chance to win the auction and get some amazing art from artists like: :iconhakuku: :iconerina: :iconrustveld: :iconbenjiih: :iconb-funk: :iconsmoocheh: and :iconskardash: They're all incredibly good artists - DON'T YOU WANNA BUY SOME ART?! >;B

Kittens make me wanna SHOUT

Journal Entry: Tue Aug 19, 2008, 4:39 PM
Yeah - really

Lately I've been in an art coma - I'm sure you've all been highly aware of that. <<; I haven't been able to rustle up the energy or the inspiration to do any art and, now that I have my flash drive back, I have the means to upload anything I do on my computer online. However much I attempt to draw with photoshop, I just haven't been able to pump out anything decent. I can't seem to color worth crap now and it's pissing me off. DDx

And so I dub a bit of a style change. I wanna try and make my style a little more realistic, especially with the coloring. I've been looking at the art of :iconthienbao: and I absolutely love his coloring. It's so soft and realistic, yet still retains his style without losing it to conventional realism. I adore the way he draws faces and that's the type of realism I'm going to try for with my coloring.

And the timing couldn't be any better now that my batch in the auction is over and I must produce the commission our winner, :iconfriends4ever1221:, has asked for. I absolutely love her character, and I've come up with several WIPs to different layouts for her commission. I can't seem to settle on one. =___=

Meanwhile, a hoard of ideas is stuck in my head, refusing to flow through my hand and into media. DDDx I could murder someone right now....

BUT NOT MY KITTY! :B It's official - I get to keep my kitten. Cinder's adorable - she's all grey with dark tabby patterns in her top coat. She gives me plenty of giggles and it's impossible for me to be bored with her around. I'll try to have pictures up soon.

Hell Boy 2 and Turning 18

Journal Entry: Mon Jul 28, 2008, 12:11 PM
Yeah - really

Updates

HOMFG~! That movie was almost as epic as Batman. @_@ I loved it so much - it was visually stunning to me. I love the director of Pan's Labyrinth, and it made it even better that he did Hell Boy! And I fan-girl-flailed for the faerie prince. @___@ HE WAS A SEXY BEAST. Am I alone on this, or what? HE might get fan art, too. =w=

AND OH EM GEE -smacked to avoid having movie spoilers-

But, yeah - I'M ALMOST 18! :B I turn 18 on August 24th, the day right before I start classes at the local community classes - I'm very excited! I usually always start school BEFORE my birthday, but now I get to start after! :B I'm excited to start - I like my classes!

~chinaearthauction is having Batch FOUR of the charity auction! It's a little delayed because we're waiting on the other artists to send their bid ladders. =w= CHECK IT OUT! :B

COMPUTER LIVES DARK KNIGHT and more features

Journal Entry: Wed Jul 23, 2008, 8:34 AM
Yeah - really

Update

MY COMPUTER LIIIIVES! Granted, I've got virtually nothing on it. =w=; I bought special virus protection and stuff to put on it because we've got dial-up that likes to kill computers. The only things I've put on it now is my printer/scanner driver, my tablet driver, and photoshop 7.0. No more open canvas, and Corel Painter X will have to go on later. I still have to put the internet provider software on it, but I'll do it later. I'm so very happy ;A; I missed my computer!

His original name was Tom, but he has a new body and mother-board now, so it's no longer Tom. It's Sonya. That's right - Tom got a sex change. All my other electronics are very angry - they're all gay men. John, my printer/scanner who is bipolar, Frank my fabulously gay and petite tablet, and Miko the monitor who is narcoleptic. Not to mention Jesus the laptop, but he's another species - the Mac species.

We now have a female member of the tech team. Sonya's pretty and black - GASP! Inter-racial collaboration! They'll all love her - she's pretty sassy. And she's always got a smile. =w=

ANYWAY :B I'm getting my kitty today - I'll have lots of pictures.

AND HOMFG I SAW DARK KNIGHT AND CREAMED MY PANTS! The Joker! ;A; He was amazing! He actually frightened and turned me on at the same time! I won't provide any spoilers, but beware art that might spoil from me. >< I'll always include spoiler warning and a mature filter just so people won't ruin their movie-going experience by seeing the thumbnail. BUT HOMFG. My friends kinda think I'm weird because me and my friend ~RinnySega were laughing our asses off whenever the Joker killed someone or blew up a building. xDDD It was LOL worthy!! I think we were the only ones in the theater cackling like we were Joker minions. And, for all intents and purposes, I AM! Dx JOKER RULES! Heath Ledger ;A; I miss him soooo!

Metrocon and Features

Journal Entry: Tue Jul 22, 2008, 8:35 AM
Yeah - really

Update

HO. MY. JEBUS. Metrocon was the shit. >< Granted, not as great as last year's. This year, us con-goers were forced to share the convention center space with people coming to see the Red Bull Flutag in Tampa. I have NEVER seen so many people at once. O____O The convention center was choked with a mixture of anime convention goers and flutag watchers, a.k.a. the "Geeks" vs. the "Normies." I'm not saying everyone of them was like this, but a lot of them were quite rude to those who were attending the con. The Florida heat and booze was probably a contributing factor for them, but the last day was a victory day for those of us attending Metrocon - we were free of the annoying flutag people. DDx The second showing of the Avatar Fight Show was pushed out of the room they were supposed to use and forced to preform in the halls. It was still amazing and Cutting Edge Entertainment was astounding during the fight show and the Fire Nation Show afterwards. (I have videos and pictures of both, btw.)

My only objection with this year (aside from the fact that the Red Bull event was slated for the same weekend as the convention) was purely emotional. This year I went to the convention with a lot of baggage, and I'm not talking about my luggage. I was in a great deal of emotional distress from family issues, financial issues, and the passing of a friend a while back. I had a little break down on the first day, especially when I couldn't find any of the friends I went to the con with. For most of the first day, I was wandering around the convention by myself with no access to my hotel, so I had no way to settle in and get comfortable. It was my first real anxiety attack in a long while, but things got better from there.

THE HUMAN CHESS MATCH WAS AMAZING HOMFG! I get goosebumps just thinking about it! And the convention staff told us what the theme for next year was going to be at closing ceremonies and I'm really, really excited! It'll be my first time cosplaying (I'll be dressed as Haruhara Haruko from FLCL one day and Xohkaru from the :iconnew-org: the next) and I'm kind of nervous. I saw a lot more FLCL cosplayers this year, too, now that I think about it. << I won't spoil anything about the Chess Match here, but if you wanna see it you should hit up YouTube. My friend :iconnirvy713: has it all on video, but I don't know if she's put it up yet.

I got some souvenirs but not a lot because I only allowed myself a $100 cash budget this year. Most of my souvenirs are memories and pictures and I'm very happy with them. =^^= I didn't get any autographs this time, nor did I spend much time at any panels or signings of my favorite voice actors - I found I didn't care as much this year as I did last year. =\ I'm just not the type to go uber fan girl over certain people. (If I saw the second coming of Christ, I'd flail, though.)

SPEAKING of Jesus - there was a Jesus cosplayer there this year. xDD I got a picture of him and a Light cosplayer together and LOLed my head off - it was Jesus and "God." I'll have the pictures up as soon as I can manage them. Metrocon was a well-deserved vacation and I'm very glad I went. I'll try to have a booth next year in Artist's Alley so I'll at least have something to do aside from just wander around. =__=;; But, now that my vacation is over, it's back to the real world - and what a shocker it was. >< As soon as I got back, I was assaulted by real-world responsibilities immediately. I had to take a trip to the community college I'm attending in the fall to sort out my enrollment and financial status, as well as straighten my schedule and classes. I also have to sign myself up for the math portion of the College Placement Test so I can skip Intermediate Algebra and just take Liberal Arts - I won't need any big math classes for an art major. So, by the end of my freshman year, I'll have all my basic learning classes out of the way and I'll be able to focus on classes geared towards my major. I also have to go pick up and pay for my PC repair today once I can get a ride. @__@ Then I gotta build it up again with my software and internet application. I won't put as much on it this time as I did last time.

The end for now. =w= <333
