Day 3 in the 30-day marathon by :icondominiquefung: - this was going to be bigger, but I hated the body/bg so much that i just cropped it and made it a portrait. DDDx Full-body hates me. Portraits are my love. <3

Photoshop 7.0 w/WACOM tablet, roughly four hours for the entire thing, and then five seconds to crop it down to a portrait. DDDx -shot-

she is lovely! i looove her in every way! you really should make another tutorial on coloring skin. i am really in awe here. like different shades of skin, from light to dark.

It's really a lot of trial-and-error with the right skin tones. I usually make a little palette of the tones I like off to the side or in a corner of the picture to use as reference, but for the in-between shades I use the eye-dropper tool to pick up colors from the picture.

so these pics were actual pictures? did you copy them? or do you just take the colors from another pic?
